The Company is headquartered in Katy, Texas, and has an office located in Reno, Nevada.
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to guide, organize, and direct the hourly workforce in conjunction with managing plant operations. This position will plan and schedule production activities in all production processes to meet production goals, maintain a safe working environment, as well as controlling plant costs through effective planning and management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise the efficient operation of processes within established parameters.
- Lead and direct the operations work force under the direction of the Plant Manager.
- Plan and schedule necessary downtime with maintenance departments.
- Production planning for various products and production units, process troubleshooting, and reporting.
- Identify process bottlenecks and causes of substandard performance.
- Formulate and execute a plan for correcting problems.
- Involve operator and maintenance personnel in the process improvements.
- Assume “ownership" of production processes, Dryer and Screening, Packaging, Wet Process and Mining.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure preventive maintenance is performed and the equipment is operating as designed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Ensure all pre-shift and post-shift inspections are performed on all production equipment during your shift daily. Follow up on any issues appropriately.
- Ensure the plants’ compliance with MSHA regulations, operating permits, and US Silica policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper site-training and documentation is complete for all employees, visitors, and contractors prior to exposure to the hazards of the operations.
- Follow all company safety and health policies.
- Support daily duties with order processing ensuring orders are uploaded in JDE.
- Provide indirect support to customers and carriers with scheduled orders.
- Provide indirect support to customers with daily COA’s through QAD software
- Ensure shipped product meets all customer requirements including product quality parameters and freedom from contamination during loading or transit.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong industrial background required.
- Strong mechanical background required.
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be willing to be on an on-call schedule.
- Prefer 3-5 years’ experience with the following skills and equipment:
- Mineral Processing and Screening.
- Slurry Pumping.
- Rotating Equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge.
- Production Planning.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Anticipate problems and prevent them when possible.
- Serve as the technical expert in the process areas.
- Gather information from various sources, identify process or maintenance problems, assist with troubleshooting and generate options for solutions.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in choosing a course of action.
